David Terrar - Your candidate for Maryland

Born in Limehouse, I lived the first 21 years of my life in a council flat in Barking.  I moved back to the East End and Newham in 2020, and I live in Forest Gate South.  I've worked in technology ever since I finished my degree at UCL.   I'm the CEO of a not-for-profit technology trade body.  I joined the Social Democrat Party in 1981, and have been a Liberal Democrat since the formation of the party.  I was a councillor for Sandridge Parish in St. Albans for 10 years, and served as chairman of the council for 5 of those years.

My ethos matches the party's fundamental belief in liberty, equality, and community.  I'm a strong supporter of all Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and LGBTQ+ issues, and it's great to be living in the most diverse borough in the country.  I want to give something back.  Wherever Liberal Democrats are elected they believe in a community-led approach. As your councillor I won't take your vote for granted. We need better crime prevention, a proper focus on the housing crisis, protection of our green spaces, more public toilets, tackling fly tipping, reducing litter, and better better waste recycling.  Nationally we need action on health and social care, unfair taxes, soaring energy bills, the failure of our water companies, and the cost of living crisis.  On 4th July vote for a proper opposition to Labour in this by-election.

Promoted by Sheree Miller on behalf of David Terrar both at 70 Kingsland Road, London, E13 9PA
