James Rumsby - Your candidate for Beckton

I have made Newham my home for the last 13 years.  I both live and work in the borough, my home is in the Beckton area.  I know the issues that affect citizens' lives in this borough because I experience them too. 

The Conservative government and the Labour dominated council have let Newham down and it is time to change them both. 

My passion is education.  I am a teacher at a secondary school working at a school in the borough.  I believe in the Liberal Democrat policy of providing free school meals to many children in the borough whose parents are struggling with the cost of living.  A child cannot learn while being hungry. 

Our policy of funding a mental health professional in every primary and secondary school, will go a long way to reducing the pressures on our childrens’ lives from social media, while also helping to deter children from the knife and drug crime in our borough which is not being tackled by the Conservative government nor the Labour mayor or council. 

I will work tirelessly to ensure these and many more of our policies are implemented, to improve our children's education, reduce crime on our streets and to reduce the cost of housing. 

Voting for me won’t stop Labour becoming the government, but it will stop Labour being complacent on our council.
